Job summary

The data clerk is responsible for coding,workflow, and filing of all incoming clinical correspondence (including testresults) in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) for RyelandSurgery and summarise incoming medical records from other practices for newlyregistered patients.

24 hours a week. (Worked over 5 days.) Some flexibility in relation to start/ finish times shown below.

Monday9:00am 2:00pm

Tuesday 11:00am 4:00pm

Wednesday 9:00am 1:00pm

Thursday 10:00am 3:00pm

Friday 11:00am 4:00pm

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities ofthe Data Clerk. On occasions there may be a requirement to carry out othertasks which are listed below under Secondary responsibilities. This will bedependent on factors such as workload and staffing levels:

Code,workflow and file all incoming clinical correspondence to the practice as setout in the Standard Operating Procedure (SoP). This will include paper andelectronic formats. Process test results from laboratories asappropriate. Summariseall incoming medical records. Initiatecontact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and externalagencies by phone, email and text Managequeries in an efficient manner Maintain aclean, tidy, effective working area at all times Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested (appropriate to role) Undertakeall mandatory training and induction programmes Attend aformal appraisal on an annual basis and participate in interim reviews toensure objectives are achieved and relevant training is undertaken.

We are a friendly, dynamic and forward thinking GP practice whose clinical team includes GPs, Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacist, FCPs, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Social Prescribers. We are also a training practice and host a Research Nurse.

The practice operates across two sites which together serve over 19,000 registered patients. This post is based in our main surgery in Leominster.

Weare active members of our Primary Care Network (PCN) and are members of a GPfederation.

Ryeland Surgery looks after more than 19000patients from Leominster and the surrounding area with a staff of more than70.
