Part-time adjunct faculty pool in Professional Writing and Rhetoric to fill opportunities on a course-by-course basis as need arises .

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Professional Writing and Rhetoric (WR)courses. WR faculty teach introductory courses, intermediateseminars, and advanced topicpracticums andseminars. WPI’sWR curriculum centers aroundcourses inwriting about science and technology;medical and biomedical writing;technical and professional communications;rhetoric and visual design;social media and gaming; andintegrated skills in English forinternational students.

We are looking for outstanding scholars, but successful candidates must also demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. Experience working with international students and students whose language is not English is essential.Asuccessful candidate should hold a PhD inin Professional/Technical Communication, Writing and Rhetoric, or related field.
