The Medical Education Department is responsible to provide a wide range of medical education services to meet the requirements of the General Medical Council, Health Education England (London and the South East), associated Medical Schools and the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and team working skills as well as the ability to work on their own initiative. They need to be able to multi-task and quickly adapt to changing situations.

A willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges will be required. Being reliable, organised and able to problem solve with excellent time management skills will be key attributes of the successful candidate.

The job involves working cross site in both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals according to the simulation training schedule. There will be a requirement for the post holder to be flexible in their working arrangements.

The position is for 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Essential criteria

•Good standard of general education to minimum of GCSE standard, level 2 qualification in Maths and English (equivalent to GCSE grade 9—4 or A* - C) or equivalent.

Desirable criteria

•Commitment to undertake and complete NVQ level 3 in the Simulation Technician apprenticeship training programme.

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria

•Advanced IT skills including proven abilities in using Microsoft Office Applications. e.g.Word, Excel •Experience of working to objectives and deadlines.

Desirable criteria

•Experience as a technician within training/ healthcare environment. •Basic working knowledge of audio-visual (AV) equipment.

Essential criteria
