Graduate Civil Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering Graduate to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.
The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and a fantastic opportunity to begin your engineering career alongside the support offered from our vastly experienced team.
What you'll be doing
- Support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfaction
- Assist in planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant and material resources
- Implement operational quality control measures and QA processes
- Develop work plans, method statements and risk assessments
- Monitor the progress of project works
- Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in place
- Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project
- Attend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise performance
- Ensure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed
- Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard
- Conduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values
- Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
- Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake .
Who we're looking for
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- Be able to demonstrate practical experience from construction or similar transferrable skills
- Experience with AutoCAD preferable
- IT competent in Microsoft packages
- Valid CSCS Card
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure
- Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Effective planning and organisation skills
- A structured approach to problem solving
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and technical skills
- Knowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulations
Other Requirements:
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK

- Hours of work are 7.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
