Thesalary bracket for this role isbased on level of experience plus oncall allowance.
Therota is as follows; 1 week of 08:0016:00 in every 5 weeks thefollowing week is 10:0018:00. The remaining weeks are flexible andcan be agreed with line manager. The OOH service is again 1 weekevery 5 (falls on early week) and the expectation is that theanalyst is available 24/7 for that week on call. The escalationrate to that OOH service is quite low. The OOH rota is paid at 200for the week and 40 per call that comes through. You wouldnt beexpected to do either of the above for at least the first 3months.

Introductionto the team

TheInfrastructure Team are a dynamic team of IT Professionals basedacross Liverpool and Manchester and Singapore. The team areresponsible for the delivery of technical projects management andBAU upkeep of the firms infrastructure applications and SQL(Managed by a dedicated SQLfunction).
Ourteam are currently working with some of the latest technologies inthe market including a Software Defined WAN Software DefinedDatacentre and migration of core applications to SAAS and IAASplatforms where suitable. You can guarantee no two days will be thesame and the workload isvaried.

Aswell as being a member of our Infrastructure team you will alsoclosely align with our solutions architect project managementoffice and service deskteams.

KeyResponsibilities
  • Workclosely with the Service Delivery Manager Infrastructure to developand maintain the Operational Infrastructure / IT Systems offeracross their UK and International Offices.
  • To support and contribute to theorganisation s corporate goals and business objectives.
  • Act as a point of escalation toService Desk Analysts and support them in identifyingtroubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
  • Embrace change defined by the ITProject Roadmap.
  • Support the ITdepartmental policies for the organisation which includes allservice delivery matters technological matters hardware andsoftware procurement & IT services sourcing.
  • Work in a collaborative way withall IT teams to support the implementation of the IT vision andstrategy.
  • Proactively contribute toknowledge transfer to the IT Service Desk to move repetitive andwell documented tasks to this team.
  • Create and maintain systemsconfiguration documentation including creating and maintaining testplans and recovery methods of all systems.
  • Keep uptodate oninfrastructure and security trends developments and the associatedopportunities and contribute to the development of plans to exploitthose trends to improve the IT service delivery to the firm.
Essential:
  • Astrong understanding of VMware management and maintenance.
  • A strong understanding of MicrosoftServer technologies and associated services including Serverand2019.
  • A good level of networkingknowledge from a troubleshooting and routing perspective. Basicswitch configuration knowledge would be desirable.
  • An understanding of DisasterRecovery and High Availability technologies to achieve strongrecovery point / recovery time objectives.
  • Microsoft Active Directory DHCP DNSSites / Services and native replication technologies.
  • Windows file services includingDFSR.
  • A strong understanding ofapplications HA technologies and how we can make our applicationshighly available for BC / DR purposes. While an understanding ofall internal applications isn t essential a strong level ofknowledge in different applications and server back endconfiguration is essential.
  • A goodunderstanding of monitoring technologies including tools such asSolarwinds as well as SNMP and MIB sets to configure and fine tuneservice monitoring to correctly alert and give statistics onavailability and performance.
  • Agood understanding of telephony and phone systems including SIPtrunking and routing.
  • Anunderstanding / reference in the use of change management / problemmanagement.
  • A strongunderstanding of technical workloads and an analytical focus ontroubleshooting time and task management.
