Graduate Teaching Assistant - Post 16

Location: Ashington, Northumberland
Salary: £83 - £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full Time

About the Role:
GSL Education are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students aged 16+ in Ashington. This role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about education and looking to gain experience in a post-16 setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent support to post-16 students, responding to their individual needs.
  • Assist teachers in lesson planning, evaluating, and adjusting lessons/work plans as appropriate.
  • Carry out administrative duties, such as preparing the classroom and clearing away after class to ensure effective teaching can take place.
  • Manage and challenge behaviour positively, fostering a productive learning environment.
  • Support the implementation of daily activities, ensuring all students are engaged.

**Requirements:

  • Use your initiative, be well-organised, and pro-active.
  • Demonstrate a strong regard for student safety and wellbeing.
  • Hold a degree or be in the process of completing one.
  • Experience working with young adults is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service OR the willingness to complete an immediate application.
  • Right to Work in the UK and a fully checkable work history.
