We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join us in the new post of Principal Pharmacist (Primary Care) for Highland Health & Social Care Partnership (HHSCP).

This will be a rewarding position where the post holder will have the opportunity to shape primary care pharmacy services in HHSCP. They will provide line management and professional leadership for the delivery of quality, innovative and sustainable primary care pharmacy input to a range of primary care settings services, particularly GP Practices, across the HSCP area, with a focus on multi-professional working.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Pharmacy the post holder will join an established pharmacy team to advance clinical services in line with local and national strategy and to develop the local pharmacy team through education and training and development of skill mix. You will represent pharmacy and NHS Highland on local committees and working groups.

You will have extensive experience of clinical pharmacy practice including in primary care, experience of management/leadership, excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and good IT skills.

You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy, or equivalent, and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have significant post-registration experience, good clinical skills, a relevant postgraduate qualification in pharmacy practice and be an independent prescriber. NHS Highland is committed to the professional development of its staff and there will be further training and education opportunities. 

This post will involve travelling to a number of locations so a full, current driving licence and use of own car for work purposes is essential.

Support for re-location will be available if required. Some flexibility in work location within the Highland HSCP area is possible.
