About the Role

Marriott's Medical Practices has an exciting opportunity for a healthcare assistant who has experience in primary healthcare to join our excellent practice team working at both Bacon Road Medical Centre and Taverham Surgery, on a full-time basis, but part time and job share will be considered.

Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. Duties include: Health checks. ECG recording. Phlebotomy. Chaperoning duties. Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses. Sterilising, cleansing & maintenance of surgical equipment. Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring & recording. Surgery equipment, vaccine re-stocking & stock rotation. Clearing & re-stocking consulting rooms. Preparing & maintaining environments & equipment before, during & after patient care interventions. Assisting in the assessment & surveillance of patients’ health & well-being. Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated & taught specifically in relation to that individual. Assisting with the collection & collation of data on needs related to health & wellbeing. About the Candidate You will need to have previous HCA experience in a GP practice to be considered for this role.  Other essential requirements: Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC; Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent; Strong clinical skills; Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post; Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills; Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues; Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team; Strong organisational and time management skills. Desirable: A qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture. About Us We have a friendly and supportive team who are passionate about providing top quality service to our 13,000 patients across the Bacon Road Medical Centre and Taverham Surgery. To help make the surgeries a good place to work and bring the team together we offer raining opportunities and CPD events as well as team building events, charity day events and social events. Many staff take part in park runs, either running them or helping the event organisers. Our staff have access to free on-site parking, Blue Light discount cards, wellbeing champions and our social group Whatsapp account. We pride ourselves on having built a culture where all staff are approachable and supportive. Other benefits include company pension and sick pay.
