We are recruiting for an enthusiastic person for the role of Area Ranger on the vast 10,000 acre mountain ranges of the Carneddau.

What you'll be doing

Pwyslais y swydd fydd i weithio’n agos gyda chymunedau sydd ar gyrion y Comin, i godi ymwybyddiaeth/proffil yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol yn lleol, i gyd weithio gyda phartneriaid i sicrhau llwyddiant Prosiect Treftadaeth Loteri'r Carneddau ac i gydlynu gwaith cadwriaethol ar gynefinoedd y mynyddoedd.

The successful applicant will concentrate on maintaining relationships with existing partners which include the commons grazing society, Local Community Councils, Natural Resources Wales, The Snowdonia National Park Authority, Snowdonia Society, local Schools and Outdoor centres. 
You’ll work closely with communities to raise awareness and profile of the National Trust locally, to work with partners to ensure the success of the Carneddau Lottery Heritage Project and to co-ordinate conservation work on mountain habitats. You will need to be a team player, working closely with the Ranger team at Ogwen and the Eryri Property.

Who we're looking for

• Practical experience in land, access, and conservation management, preferably including delivery of small projects and supervision of contractors 
• Experience of developing and delivering work programs to meet conservation and access outcomes 
• Experience of leading and line managing teams of staff and/or volunteers 
• Practical skills applied across a broad range of habitats and estate management, preferably with certification in chainsaw use, tractor driving, and towing trailers 
• Able to work safely, leading on compliance including writing risk assessments as well as safety and environmental procedures 
• Demonstrate a passion for nature and the outdoors - able to engage with visitors to help them understand the value of our work 
• A full UK driving licence is essential
