We are looking for a DSEAR Project Manager (Electrical & Mechanical) to join the Compliance Team in Technical Contract Services (TCS) within Capital Delivery & Design (CDD) to manage electrical and mechanical statutory inspections for DSEAR (Dangerous Substances Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) Compliance. The role will have a high level of responsibility for the management of DSEAR to achieve full compliance against the regulation and company standards and to provide a crucial service and interface for all Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy stakeholders.
Working alongside internal and external stakeholders you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of DSEAR statutory compliance within ST & HD to include:
The periodic statutory inspection of assets and equipment within hazardous areas. Remedial rectification of non-compliant equipment and installations Support with DSEAR competency improvements across ST & HD. The management and control of DSEAR related risks with operational teams. Play an active role in improving Asset Data and Planning activities relating to DSEAR.. Provide technical support to the business regarding DSEAR compliance of electrical/mechanical equipment and share best practice The management of contractors to ensure compliance and delivery of DSEAR inspection and remedial tasksYou will be responsible for both operational and capital financial management related to the delivery of compliance activities.
The management of information will be required to measure performance against strict compliance criteria and service level agreements ensuring the ongoing successful delivery of the contracts, and to ensure any issues and risks will be resolved immediately.
You would be responsible for managing internal and external stakeholder relationships via regular review meetings, attending comm cells & team meetings.
Close working with the ST Health and Safety team will be required to support with H&S standards, regulation and legislation updates, safety bulletins and accident investigations.
The management and control of data associated with DSEAR Compliance will be critical to the role with the development of a management system and processes to meet the requirements of DSEAR and company standards.
Close working with the STW electrical safety group, SAP mentors and local operational team SAPs to provide expert guidance and advice on electrical standards and ways of working to ensure DSEAR Compliance with delivery of statutory inspection programs and remedial activities to BSEN .
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of delivering multi-site projects with operational and H&S risk and an excellent understanding of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) associated standards and approved Codes of Practice.
An understanding and experience of the water industry standards and can demonstrate a working knowledge of wastewater and water treatment processes, and the potentially explosive atmospheres that can occur.
A comprehensive understanding of STW maintenance and operations tasks, planning and scheduling activities.
Extensive electrical experience as an LV and HV SAP.
The role is an all-rounded Project Manager however there will be a big focus on managing contractors and suppliers.
