The base

You'll be based at our Schroders Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different. We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham’s main line train station.



What you'll do

• Develop existing and new features to the product suite following the SAFe methodology Use code reviews to help drive quality improvements and share knowledge.
• Work with other senior developers and Principal Developers to implement new best practices, design patterns and technologies
• Coach and mentor other developers, on topics including design, coding, automated testing, quality best practices, and managing technical debt
• Work with the UX team to follow design guidelines
• Help guide the team at a technical level
• Support the team in achieving its objectives
• The core technologies used for this role are; Git, Team City and Octopus. Front-end ReactJS, ES6, and styled components, Yarn and NPM, Storybook/Material UI, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, TypeScript, C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET Core, .NET Framework, SQL Server, Azure Storage. Back-end C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET Core, HTTP API’s, Messaging with NServiceBus, Azure PaaS and IaaS, SQL Server, Azure Storage.


The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need


• 6 years’ commercial experience developing web applications, preferably single page applications and APIs
• Experience as a technical lead on projects within a small group of developers
• Strong JavaScript skills
• Comfortable using ES6, Node and NPM, Vite
• Strong CSS3 and SASS or LESS skills
• Proficient in use of automated testing in both the front and back ends (unit, integration, etc)
• A deep understanding and practical experience of object-oriented principles and best practices such as SOLID
• 3 year’s commercial experience developing HTTP RESTful APIs in .NET
• Working within an Agile methodology (e.g. SCRUM, Kanban)
• Strong communication skills

• Financial Services industry experience
• ESLint, Jest, VS Code
• Storybook, Styleguidist, or Fractal
• Mobile App Development - ideally React Native, or iOS / Android
• SVG and D3.js or HTML5 Canvas
• Flow or TypeScript
• E2E testing (cypress) and API testing would be advantageous
• Experience of building and deploying web applications and troubleshooting issues
• SOA / Microservice
• CQRS
• Entity Framework
• Azure: Storage, Service Bus, Azure functions)
• T-SQL
• NServiceBus (or equivalent)
• Git
• Working within the SAFe methodology
