Main duties of the job

The job involves preparation of the theatre, ensuring the cleanliness of the environment and equipment, working in the theatre environment, and supporting qualified staff to provide excellent care to all patients. Good communication skills and a willingness to learn are essential.

This role also involves transiting patients from theatre to Eye Surgery unit.

Job responsibilities

The Ophthalmic theatre team are hardworking specialists providing quality safe care for patients. We pride ourselves in our education system with mentors, education lead and pathways

Job Includes:

Communicate with patients and members of staff, including managers, nurses, ODPs, support and medical staff to ensure the continuity of patient care To co-operate with other departments in procedures carried out in the operating department Follow Health and Safety regulations in order to maintain a safe working environment Awareness of cost implications and the effective use of resources To assist in the induction of new members of staff and students to the department
