Job summary

This is an exciting & pivotal role that will ensure the delivery of effective occupational health services, while leading & developing a unique collaboration across neighbouring health boards.

We are looking for a transformational, compassionate leader to provide strategic direction to a multi-disciplinary team while driving the development & success of a single shared occupational health service that meets required standards, legislative requirements & the needs of the organisation.

The role oversees the Employee Wellbeing Service at CAVUHB which has a range of roles & specialisms. Leading an innovative team that fosters evidence-based approaches, you will be passionate & knowledgeable about staff health & wellbeing & will lead the team in developing & evaluating services, alongside advising on strategic approaches to improve employee health & wellbeing.

Developing effective relationships is key. You will bring experience of reporting & presenting at a senior level, & the ability to sustain healthy working relationships. The role will also require a data driven approach to support regular reporting to the Executive Team, Board, Trade Union Partners & Welsh Government.

This role is critical to the delivery of the People & Culture Plan, & the achievement of the ambitions within the Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy, & would suit a forward-thinking occupational health professional who role-models organisational values & behaviours.

Main duties of the job

The role requires Membership of a relevant professional body registration on NMC Sub Part 1 RN1 & Part 3 of NMC register, HCPC register.

Providing compassionate & strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality standards that are responsive to the needs of both organisations.

Ensuring functional oversight, clinical leadership & management responsibility for OH services at CAV & CTM.

Working closely with senior management & the OH teams, the post-holder will develop a single shared occupational health service & will lead & manage the transition to the new model.

The post holder will lead, motivate & develop the OH teams & the EWS to improve the health & wellbeing of employees, to safeguard employees from risk arising from their work & working environment, & to promote the health & wellbeing of the organisation.

The post holder is responsible for the income generating provision of efficient, effective & high-quality professional OH Services.

The role will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that there is clear understanding of OH policy & standards. Where necessary, the post holder will need to challenge & influence managers to realign their practice to improve the health & wellbeing of their teams.

The post holder is responsible for the management of budgets for several services including the department, internal SLAs & external contracts.

This role requires multi-site working across CAVUHB & CTMUHB.
