About this opportunity

You'll work within the Media and Campaign Insights performance reporting function of Marketing Sciences, in conjunction with the Media Performance Manager to:

Create media and marketing effectiveness reports.

Use and help develop the sophisticated econometric (MMM) and analytical tools we need to optimise our marketing performance and deliver our commercial objectives through optimised, customer-centric campaigns.

Find actionable recommendations to optimize our multimillion-pound marketing budgets.

Support our colleagues with media market updates and competitor activity insights.

Be a business partner to LBG research teams, ATL and BTL communications functions and media agency teams.

Alongside supporting the media decision-making process within LBG, part of role requires keeping abreast of marketing, technology and modelling developments to be shared with Marketing Sciences and associated functions.

Key accountabilities:

Utilising multiple internal and external data sources to derive the learnings we need to support the Marketing Communications and Planning teams to deliver effective and efficient campaign media plans, and therefore BMX and LBG commercial objectives.

Making data-led, action-orientated and credible media and budget deployment recommendations, to maintain our market-leading media strategy.

Ensuring collaboration with stakeholders: campaign teams, analytics/econometrics and data teams, marketing research and our media agency partner.

Supporting colleagues in developing and embedding strategic approaches to present and future media planning, to ensure LBG is prepared to take appropriate advantage of the evolving media landscape. This includes supporting media channel test-and-learn activities designed to develop our knowledge database of effective and efficient media choices for any scenario.

What you’ll need

Experience of working in a data-centric B2C media optimisation, planning or auditing environment across offline and online channels (client, consultancy or agency-based).

Proven experience with Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM)/ Econometrics / Bayesian Modelling / regression analysis.

You'll be able to give examples of how you have used, and potentially developed, models to track performance, forecast outcomes, set budgets and develop actionable insights that can be used to make recommendations for stakeholders.

High data literacy, with experience in Excel, R, SQL and Python and aligning disparate data sources.

The ability to create clear, concise and audience-centric ‘stories’ in PowerPoint and Word, based on accurate credible insights and attention to detail, quickly.

And any experience of these would be really useful

A knowledge of consumer research methodologies (such as Ipsos, Kantar, YouGov etc) in addition to a robust understanding of media research methodologies.

Experience in audience segmentation and profiling and the implications for media strategy.

Experience using Nielsen AdIntel reporting or similar market data sources.

Familiarity with Test & Learn methodologies and how results are incorporated into analytics and modelling.
