Working with the Project Manager & Senior Project Manager, you will assist in the safe and efficient delivery of strategic capital maintenance projects within Hampshire. You will be working with external delivery partners, the internal project management team, and other key stakeholders at various levels to deliver a key part of Southern Water’s investment plan, providing asset resilience and securing customers supply whilst helping ensure the project is delivered to time, cost and quality.

You will get exposure to high value capital maintenance projects with budgets in excess of £100m, providing a challenging but rewarding opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to help us deliver the best value to our customers and maintaining our commitment to improving the environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Ensure all project documentation is up to date, including contracts, permits, and other regulatory documents. Compile and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key developments, issues, and risks. Act as a point of contact for operations, principal contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, facilitating effective communication. Organize and participate in coordination meetings, ensuring all parties are aligned and informed. Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Assist in quality control inspections and ensure that any defects or issues are promptly addressed. Assist in identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies. Support the PM in resolving any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle. Assist in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the project. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure project activities are on track. Ensure that health and safety systems are followed on-site, contributing to a safe working environment. Provide support to project team members, helping to resolve any issues and ensuring smooth project execution. Handle various administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining project records. Ensure that project data is accurately recorded and maintained in project management systems.

About You

This role will make use of your proven track record of excellent organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively, ideally whilst working within Water, Utilities or Engineering industries. Ideally you will have a foundation qualification in Project Management (e.g APM Project Management Fundamentals) or are working towards it, but this is an area we can support you with so isn’t essential.

Package

This role will be full time Monday to Friday37 hours a week. 

Southern Water operatea hybrid approach to working between our Testwood site.
