Supervisor - Civils

The role

We are looking to appoint a experienced Civils Supervisor to work closely with the Construction Manager in the planning and delivery of on site lineside civils works. This also incudes working across our Ground Investigation and Piling departments.

Key accountabilities

You will be responsible for the supervision of an array of railway civil engineering activities working within multi-discipline construction sites to ensure safe construction to Approved for Construction (AFC) design and that programme milestones are achieved. You will develop project specific work package plans, safe work packs, risk assessments and lift plans for implementation by the site teams.

You will also be responsible for the supervision of all staff and sub-contractors involved in civils works ensuring compliance with statutory, industry and company standards, safety requirements and to meet programme milestones.

Skills & experience

Significant and demonstrable experience in a civils supervisory role within the UK Rail industry is essential. Experience of working with steel piling activities would be a distinct advantage as would a good understanding of ground investigation. You will possess a proactive and responsible attitude with a high level of safety awareness. 

A COSS competency is an essential requirement for this role. Machine/Crane Controller competency is desirable, but training would be provided for the right candidate.

Successful candidates will be expected to have a flexible approach to work and be willing to work nights, weekends and lodge away from home as required.
