The Role


Working as part of a team in the Maintenance function, you will be responsible for the maintenance, service, fault finding and repair of the plant equipment.

You will be a ‘time served’ tradesman and will have experience of working on a chemical manufacturing facility, ideally top tier COMAH and have experience of permit to work systems, isolation procedures and safety management systems.

You work well as part of a team and have a flexible approach to work, with a strong focus on problem solving.

Key Duties

• To perform mechanical work covering installation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment. 
• Work from engineering drawings and equipment specifications 
• Follows Maintenance Supervisor instruction to execute the daily mechanical maintenance plan 
• Install and maintain mechanical equipment to comply with regulatory requirements 
• To perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical failures 
• Work in accordance with Tronox values and safety requirements 

About You


Ideally, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Externally accredited qualifications at Engineering Craft/Technician level, NVQ3 Modern Apprenticeship/ C&G Apprenticeship/ONC Engineering
• The training and qualifications to fulfil the obligations of the role, Harness trained, Tractor & Trailer qualified, confine space trained, MEWP licence, FLT Licence etc,
• Experience of slinging and rigging within a heavy engineering/chemical manufacturing environment
• Be familiar with the ‘permit to work’ system, isolation procedures and safety management systems.
• You will have strong communications skills, effective problem solving skills and be able to work with minimum supervision.
