Job Description:

Purpose of the role:

As an Enterprise Master Data Management Specialist, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and governance of Anglo American’s physical asset data across our global operations. This critical role underpins the company’s ability to deliver on its commitments to operational excellence, safety, and environmental stewardship through efficient asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the maintenance, and governance of master data for all physical assets company-wide, ensuring consistent application across all operations. Collaborate with and support the Principal for Master Data Management (MDM) to develop and enforce a standardized MDM strategy in line with Anglo American’s strategic objectives. Drive the standardization of technical and operational objects to enable efficient and standardized maintenance processes, targeting 100% of PM03 and 80% of PM01 tasks (subject to review at a later stage). Collaborate with various business units to ensure that MDM solutions are integrated and aligned with the company’s overall IT architecture and business strategy. Act as a custodian of data quality, establishing routines for continuous data validation and cleansing to uphold the integrity of asset information. Ensure that process for corrective actions is in place. Implement and monitor robust data governance and stewardship practices, ensuring compliance with Anglo American’s policies and industry regulations. Facilitate the communication and dissemination of MDM practices across Anglo American’s global operations, ensuring that all regions and departments align with enterprise standards. Utilize advanced analytics to monitor the effectiveness of the Master Data, providing insights to drive strategic decisions and improve operational efficiencies. Support the development of training programs and documentation to enhance organizational capabilities in MDM. Stay abreast with the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in MDM and asset management, recommending improvements and innovations. Implement access controls and permissions to ensure appropriate data access and prevent unauthorized changes to master data.

Experience:

At least 3 - 5 years of experience in master data management within the mining or oil and gas industry, with a demonstrated understanding of physical asset management. Previous experience supporting master data practices within a large, complex organisation Proven ability to deliver against relevant strategies and practices in place to improve quality, standardisation, and effectiveness of master data. Proven ability to educate and coach colleagues on master data standards and practices. Working knowledge of master data systems Proficiency in SAP EAM or equivalent enterprise asset management systems Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Data Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree would be advantageous.
