Job summary

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated, dynamic and experienced perioperative nurse to join the theatre department in Prince Charles Hospital as the Theatre Clinical manager, managing our perioperative services at Prince Charles Hospital, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational management and governance of :

5 main theatres 2 theatres situated within the 16 bedded Day surgical unit Preassessment department

The successful candidate must provide strong clinical and professional leadership in the perioperative field to support the Lead Nurse and Head of Nursing, whilst being a visible and supportive role model to ensure the delivery of quality, efficient, safe and cost effective patient-centred care.

The post-holder will also be responsible for delivering on professional standards and efficient utilisation of all services .

To succeed in this role you will need to inspire and motivate a multidisciplinary team of staff build excellent relationships through good communication skills, and have a strong eye for detail.

You must be willing to embrace a broad range of new challenges and possess the knowledge and drive to create and deliver the best surgical pathway for our patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will :

Be responsible for the operational management and governance of Theatre, Recovery and Pre-assessment Surgical services within Prince Charles Hospital Provide leadership, direction and development of nursing and allied healthcare professional staff Support the Head of Nursing & Clinical Service Group Manager in ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored and evaluated within the clinical areas of responsibility The post holder will be required to interpret national and health board policies and procedures and advice on the implantation of these for their area of responsibility

The post holder is guided by professional, organisational policies and codes of conduct and be responsible for their implantation for their area.
