We are seeking a skilled and experienced Domestic Gas Heating Installation Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to install domestic gas heating systems in residential properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of gas heating systems, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, service, and repair domestic gas heating systems including boilers, radiators, pipework and associated controls.
  2. Conduct thorough heating surveys of existing heating systems and recommend appropriate solutions.
  3. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards during installation, servicing, and maintenance activities.
  4. Collaborate with customers to understand their heating needs, provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements and offer guidance on energy-efficient heating solutions.
  5. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service LGSR’s, Benchmarks, inspection findings, and parts used.
  6. Stay current with industry trends, developments, and best practices in gas heating technology and regulations.
  7. Work collaboratively with other team members and contractors to complete installations on time.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Domestic Gas Heating Installation Technician or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in installing and servicing gas heating systems.
  2. Valid Gas Safe Register certification or equivalent accreditation required.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of domestic gas heating systems, components and associated technologies.
  4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics and diagrams.
  5. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex heating system issues efficiently.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  9. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Additional certifications or training in HVAC/R, plumbing, or related fields.
  2. Experience with renewable energy heating systems such as solar thermal or heat pumps.
