TheRole:
The Mechanical Technicianwill possess a comprehensive range of engineering knowledge alongwith suitable practical experience for both trouble shooting andinstallation work. The ideal candidate will possess CompExMechanical qualifications and experience working in hazardousareas. Experience and knowledge gained working within top tierCoMAH regulations including corresponding environmental, health andsafety legislative requirements are fundamental to thisrole.
Main duties andresponsibilities:
- Manageworkload to ensure safe, standardised and efficient maintenance ofall plant and equipment as per CMMS task instructions, statutoryrequirements and technicaldocuments.
- Completion of daily work to suitablestandards using CMMS job sheets for routine maintenance, repairsand commissioning / testing of the site equipment ensuring correctcompletion of jobs.
- Responsible for performingand overseeing the installation, inspection, maintenance and repairof all relevant mechanical equipment, ensuring all work undertakento the highest standards and within requiredtimescales.
- Work in conjunction withengineering supervisor to complete CMMS jobs and task listsensuring that they are completed on time and suitably closedout.
- Work with engineering supervisor to ensurethat all mechanical based project plans, improvements, repairs andshutdowns are performed to the appropriate standard /timescales.
- Contribute as required to thescoping and installation of capital projects including theprovision of labour, supervision of contract labour, technical /process data and thorough commissioning, snagging and hand over ofinstalled equipment.
- Identify appropriaterepairs / upgrades and routine maintenance requirements areundertaken to maximise and maintain plant availability andefficiency.
- Report all equipment defects,faults or alarms and that any issue is appropriately handledensuring any unsafe items are suitably isolated andcommunicated.
- Support engineering department toflexibly respond to business needs through performing additionaltasks including basic electrical tasks, fork lift driving etc. inaccordance with competencies and departmentalrequirements.
Qualifications,skills andexperience:
- HNC Degreeor apprenticeship in MechanicalEngineering.
- Experience working on either COMHAor PSSR site.
