As a Specialist Dietitian you will work to establish a focus on nutritional assessment and treatment of people following a stroke. This includes leadership of quality improvement and service development within nutritional care.

You will develop and broaden your leadership and team working skills, through sharing your innovative approaches and leading on projects and training. You will be encouraged and supported in considering improved and more effective ways of working.

The job plan includes dedicated sessions for stroke care (at just over sessions a week). The remaining sessions will support clinical service delivery within another area of core service; this will be agreed at interview dependent on service needs at appointment.

Main duties of the job

To work in partnership with the stroke team to optimise care for this patient group in the acute and rehab phase.

To provide dietary programs in to meet the needs of stroke patients.

To practice as an autonomous practitioner

To establish new and innovative working practices in collaboration with the stroke team.

To liaise with other disciplines and agencies in order to ensure co-ordination of care.

To participate in the collection of monthly data as required.

To liaise with dietetic colleagues and develop appropriate resources for program delivery, reviewing and updating content to meet changing demands

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
