Plating Supervisor - Black Hat 

Location: Somerset

We enhance the efficiency of assets, ensuring a high level of availability and reducing maintenance costs.

As a Plater, your activities will include the following:
▪ Carry out structural work using things such as rolled steel joists, columns, channels and angle bars etc. Work includes building bridges, oil rigs,
▪ Study sketches, diagrams or parts to be fabricated and determine the operations to be performed and the materials required.
▪ Template making and pattern development.
▪ Multi-skilled in the use of heavy machines (such as Radial arm drills, bending machines, press brake machines, rolling machines, guillotines, mechanical saws 
▪ etc.), oxy-fuel cutting equipment and welding equipment.
▪ Setting out at sites using dumpy levels and theodolites, producing level and vertical datum points prior to the fabrication and construction of parts.
▪ Lay out, position, align and otherwise set pieces in place preparatory to welding and measure dimensions.
▪ Clean and degrease parts to be welded using wire brushes, grinders or solvent.
▪ Clean and maintain material and tools.
▪ Requisition materials and tools required and inspect them for suitability and conformity to specification.
