Job summary

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Ward Sister to join our Nursing Team in Faversham Community Hospital.

We are modern matrons, registered nurses, rehabilitation assistants, health care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, care managers, pharmacists, visiting medical officers and medical consultants who run Kent's community hospitals.

Community hospitals provide a wide range of services including in-patient rehabilitation,outpatientconsultations in major specialities such as child health, dental services, therapy and rehabilitation services, minor injuries, minor illness, phlebotomy, sexual health clinics and other out-of-hourstreatments.

Main duties of the job

As the Ward Sister you will under the direction of the Matron, be responsible and accountable for the holistic care of a namedgroup of patients.

You will regularly take charge of the Ward and the Hospital in the absence of the Matron anddelegate for the matron at Trust clinical forums and meetings.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Registered health care professional (NMC or HCPC registration) / minimum of 3 years of experience in health improvement environment

Desirable

PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management training PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education

Qualifications

Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6 and Evidence of Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples -: non-medical prescribing; mentorship, coaching, clinical expertise)-:

Management or supervisory qualification or experience of study Working towards Master level study

Minimum of 5 years' experience in area of practice. Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience
