Role Summary

This fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to lead the Specialist Palliative Care Team across Eastern services. The post, based in RD&E Wonford will work alongside a Nurse Consultant and Consultant in Palliative Medicine to lead the delivery of high quality specialist palliative care to patients in our care. This is an exciting time to join the team as the Trust reviews its End of Life Strategy and expands on the existing specialist workforce.

This role is responsible for the day to day operational running of the Clinical Nurse Specialists working across the RD&E Wonford. The postholder will work closely with a specialist MDT to plan and deliver specialist care for patients at the end of their lives. The postholder will use advanced communication skills to problem solve complex decision making with patients, relatives and other clinicians across the Trust.

The post holder will have the benefit of being involved in delivering high quality specialist care for individual patients as well as improving care across all Care Groups. The strategic, operational and clinical responsibilities make the post suitable for someone who is ambitious for improving standards across different specialties. The postholder will take a lead alongside other clinicians in developing and delivering education programmes to improve the overall delivery of palliative and End of Life care across the Trust.

Working Pattern: hrs per week
