Role: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Motherwell Bridge, Scotland

Permanent

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a knack for cost management and a passion for delivering top-notch contract management? Altrad Services UK is looking for a dedicated professional to join our team and help drive our business goals in contract delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting:

Ensure robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting for projects.Collaborate with Operations to validate and process all costs related to labour, management, materials, plant, and sub-contractors.Forecast revenue, margin, and cash flow accurately for current and upcoming projects.Manage task costs with the support of the Commercial and Project Managers.Reconcile Altrad timesheets with the Client’s time writing process weekly, addressing any variances promptly.

Processes:

Adhere to internal commercial processes aligned with Altrad AIMS procedures.Meet all contractual requirements, including schedules for valuations, certification, and invoicing.Comply with client contract management systems/CEMAR as required.Assist in pricing and tracking scope variations to ensure best value.Maintain comprehensive backup documentation for all commercial transactions for audits.

External Relationships:

Engage the supply chain with appropriate contract terms.Build and maintain strong client relationships.Manage subcontract letting, from procurement to final account.Prepare applications for payment in the agreed client format.Address commercial issues with clients, including variations, claims, and additional payments.

Internal Relationships:

Foster effective interaction between the Commercial and site teams.Collaborate with site management to forecast spend and cash recovery.Share best practices and advise on cost and budget management.Work closely with the Director General Manager, Commercial Manager, Project Managers, and Site Managers for proactive commercial project management.

Key Measures & Targets:

Accurate monthly forecasting with Project Managers.Challenge resources and costs on live and upcoming projects.Maintain deadlines per the monthly commercial calendar.Drive margin growth through effective contract management, cost control, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Relationships:

Internal: Director General Manager, General Managers, Project Managers, Head of Commercial, Commercial Manager, Site Project Teams.External: Client Commercial Teams.

Experience & Skills:

Minimum 5 years in the construction industry.Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.Expertise in preparing applications for payment and managing the approval process.Proven experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement.Proficiency in monthly reporting and cost vs value analysis.Strong communication, numeric, and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and within a team.NEC 3 and NEC 4 experience is desirable.
