Contract Type: Part Time / Full Time

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary) to join a supportive and vibrant school in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary), you will work closely with teachers to provide support across various subjects and age groups. You will play a key role in helping students reach their full potential while developing your own skills in the classroom environment.

Responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary):

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and creative lessons
  • Work with small groups of students to provide extra guidance
  • Assist with classroom management and creating a positive learning atmosphere
  • Help prepare classroom materials and resources
  • Provide one-to-one support for students with additional needs
  • Support the emotional and social development of pupils
  • Assist with school trips and extracurricular activities

To be a successful Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary), you should have:

  • A degree qualification (or equivalent)
  • A genuine passion for working with children
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience working with children, either paid or voluntary, is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work under the guidance of the classroom teacher and follow school policies
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
