Do you have experience managing contracts and projects? Do you have a solid technical background working on Civil Design activities? Do you demonstrate great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to handle challenges and to manage risks?

If so, come and join EDF as a Civil Contract Manager for the SZC project.

The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

As a Civil Contract Manager will be responsible for the management of one or multiple civil engineering design contracts for SZC project, for ensuring that the technical specifications are adhered to by the contract holder.

You will report to the SZC Civil Team lead and liaise with various contributors internally and externally including civil engineers, scheduling and cost control teams, your associated contract holder, the Responsible Designer’s Project Management Office (PMO), the procurement department and potentially the legal teams, as well as different entities from the client organisation.

You will also work to improve contract tools, lead contractual discussions, and prepare, review, and analyse Early Warnings and Compensation Events, in addition to reviewing and validating monthly payment applications. Reporting duties include preparing and delivering financial and progress reports. As part of your risk management duties, you will maintain the risk register of the contracts. Stakeholder management involves liaising with different entities from the client organisation. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting quality and financial audits of the contract holder, and recording and sharing the lessons that have been learnt from both current activities and previous projects, for the benefit of others on the project.

Who you are

You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with practical experience in contract management and a solid understanding of contract regulations and relevant laws.
