Contracts Manager required in East London / Essex


GVR Solutions are currently representing a well-established main contractor, based in Essex, who are currently in the market for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. As a business they mainly work within the Housing Association sector providing planned and reactive maintenance services.



The Contracts Managers main duties will include:


  • To be responsible for the implementation of the Health and Safety policy of the Company
  • To take full ownership for the project, and the projects expectations
  • To keep accurate records and effectively communicate all relevant information
  • To take advantage of opportunities to develop oneself & others
  • To comply in all regards with the company’s objectives & process’ in relation to quality assurance procedures and systems
  • To liaise with the Customers to ensure that projects run as smoothly as possible.
  • To delegate and communicate efficiently and effectively
  • To operate in a confidential and professional manner
  • To work in a pro-active manner and adopt a solution management approach
  • To take advantage of opportunities to develop oneself
  • To manage one’s own time to achieve objectives
  • To induct all new employees to ensure that their abilities reflect the standards
  • Establish effective working relationships between other Contracts Managers, Supervisors, Subcontractors and Operatives
  • To be responsible for identifying the training and development needs of your



Contracts Manager skills and qualifications:


  • Experience working on planned and reactive maintenance projects
  • Experience working on framework contracts
  • Experience working on refurbishment contracts
  • IT literacy including Word, Excel & Email (Good level)
  • Minimum HNC or HND qualification or NVQ Level 6 minimum
  • Verbal & Written communication skills
  • Excellent Health & Safety Skills
  • Good Numeracy
  • Analytical & problem-Solving Skills
  • Effective Meetings
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Objective setting
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Appraisal Skills
  • CSCS Black Card Holder
  • First Aid qualifications are ideal
  • A degree/HNC in a related subject would be advantageous
  • 5-day CITB Health & Safety Qualification
