**What you’ll be doing:**
* Leading all the operational delivery and continuous improvement activity for inventory that is receipted, stored, maintained and internally dispatched for current and future programmes
* Support the delivery of the product by ensuring that subordinates have purpose and clarity and are empowered to meet key delivery targets within an acceptable timescale and within budget.
* Provide support and assistance in the development of key strategies, policies and procedures that will enhance product quality and customer satisfaction (internally and externally).
* Actively promote cross functional working to augment and achieve key knowledge transfer and promote best working practices across the business.
* Identifying and establishing “best practice” logistics process related to receipting, storage maintenance and internal dispatch activity
* Managing and controlling inventory obsolescent and slow moving materials, ensuring functional compliance with all internal andor external regulatory requirements
**Your skills and experiences:**
Essential:
* A high level of relevant Logistics experience gained within a Manufacturing and Engineering business environment
* Management experience within a large project-based organisation, delivering on time within budget and quality requirements
Desirable:
* Extensive knowledge of warehousing & transport operations and management within a large FMCG or Logistics Business
* Experience of leading and developing teams across multiple locations
* Knowledge of best practice standards within a Logistics environment

**The Logistics Management Team:**
The senior manager will be part of the logistics management team reporting
into the Principal Supply Chain Manager – Logistics. They will have 120+
Logistics personnel working in their area comprising of 3 Supply Chain Leads,
14 team leaders and 100+ staff & Logistics Operatives.
