Paralegal - Regulatory Compliance - Niche Telecoms Company, Central London


EMEA Legal is currently seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join a niche telecoms company in central London. This role offers the chance to become an integral part of an expanding legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This position promises complete ownership over managing corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and board administration for a group of companies. The role is a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent, and offers a hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office).

Key Responsibilities.

Corporate Secretarial Services: Prepare and manage legal documents such as minutes, resolutions, and powers of attorney. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive corporate documents. Assist with KYC requests and statutory filings. Handle projects like entity incorporation and legal entity rationalisation. Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and other applicable legislation.


Board Administration: Organise and coordinate board meetings, prepare agendas, board packs, and related documents. Manage the appointment, resignation, or removal of directors and senior officers. Provide induction and training to new board members on their responsibilities and governance practices.


Compliance and Regulatory: Support the management of global regulatory and compliance regimes across multiple jurisdictions. Manage the group’s regulatory filings, regulatory calendar, and relationships with governmental and regulatory agencies. Monitor and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assist with compliance screening processes, review compliance-related queries, and update policies, procedures, and processes. Support periodic compliance reports for Executive Management, the Audit Committee, and the Board.


Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience: Proven experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of company law, corporate governance practices, and regulatory environments in a multinational setting.

Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible, adaptable, and a self-starter. Ability to work autonomously and drive processes to speedy and successful completion. Organised, methodical, and able to manage a variety of tasks to different timescales with excellent attention to detail.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in all Microsoft Office software packages and the use of Diligent Entities. Experience in handling mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring activities is preferred.
