Main Responsibilities as a Site Reliability Engineer

  • Collaborate as part of the team responsible for delivering, upgrading, and maintaining core service and project platforms, systems, and automations.
  • Develop and oversee core monitoring and management platforms to ensure functionality and efficiency.
  • Ensure high-quality monitoring systems are in place and meet project standards.
  • Partner with engineers, developers, operations, and QA teams to design, secure, and optimise products and platforms.
  • Engage with project stakeholders and operational support teams to design and deliver tailored solutions within project timelines.
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of new service deployments.
  • Design, test, and implement proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives for new technologies, progressing them to production.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and hardening of installed or developed solutions.
  • Build and maintain automation tools to streamline processes and improve solution reliability.
  • Use tools such as Linux, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes to diagnose, analyse, and resolve performance issues.


Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Must hold SC clearance.
  • Expertise in Linux and Windows Infrastructure: Proficient in managing Linux-based operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu) and Windows OS environments, including Active Directory and server infrastructure.
  • Scripting and Automation Skills: Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash, PHP, Python, and PowerShell, with hands-on experience in automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, along with on-premise technologies and Desired State Configuration practices.
  • Problem-Solving and Learning Aptitude: Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting abilities and a proactive approach to learning emerging technologies and methodologies in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
  • Security Clearances: Holds SC Clearance and is eligible for DV clearance.
  • Windows Administration Expertise: Proficient in administering a Windows Server 2022 Active Directory infrastructure, managing user accounts and mailboxes via on-prem Exchange Server 2019, and maintaining a performant service.
  • SharePoint Administration: Skilled in managing on-prem SharePoint Server 2019, creating sites, implementing security/access controls, and integrating with security applications.
  • Database Management: Experienced in managing and maintaining MSSQL Server 2019 for optimal performance.
