Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a one-day File Quality training package to student officers during their post tutorship training course.
  • Provide File Quality & Disclosure training to Student Hub Supervisors & Tutors
  • Provide File Quality & Disclosure training and CPD to all officers & Staff across Bedfordshire Police to meet departmental and individual needs as directed by FQU Detective Inspector
  • Provide drop-in sessions across the force to enable staff and opportunity to gain support and assistance in case file building and Disclosure.
  • To review and evaluate previous and current cases, to identify required learning and embed this in future training to drive improvements.
  • To identify themes and trends in File Quality and/or Disclosure failings and ensure that processes are put in place to mitigate these in the future.
  • To support the Force Disclosure Lead, and deputy Lead in the implementation of the force wide Disclosure Development Plan.


Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of creating training packages.
  • Ability of delivering training packages in a manner that the audience is able to understand and is appropriate to the level of knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of PIP2 Serious & Complex Investigations.
  • Experience of submitting a wide range of cases to CPS.
  • Able to independently manage own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to review performance data /material and formulate a plan of how to deliver these operationally.
  • Up to date knowledge of current organisational challenges around file quality and disclosure.
  • Able to provide detailed briefings and reports to senior managers and key stake holders.
  • Substantial knowledge of file quality and disclosure requirements and processes.
  • Have a good understanding of the below documents:
  • Directors Guidance on Charging V6
  • National File Standard
  • Disclosure Manual
  • CPS Manual of Guidance – for the preparation, processing, and submission of prosecution files.
  • Criminal Procedure & Investigation Act 1996.
