Hours: Full-Time (40 hours p/w) However we are open to discussing part-time hours

Contract: Temporary - 12 month maternity cover role

Our organisation is at a crucial stage on our scaling journey requiring temporary cover in our team for maternity leave in relation to our strategic reporting and analysis requirements.


Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the team member will also provide support on ad hoc strategic projects to the Chief Executive Officer. You will also proactively support our Core and Senior Leadership Team (CLT/SLT) and the Head of Finance specifically in respect of any required strategic matters. You will assist in defining business requirements and reporting them back to the relevant stakeholders.


You will assist in the execution of projects through robust and data-led decision-making.


Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are highlighted below in terms of known projects at this time which may be in collaboration with the Head of Finance.


  • Performance of financial modelling in respect of new product developments, export growth plans and new investments
  • Ongoing strategic planning for export growth in US and Australia
  • Involvement in the new opportunity within the organisation (“Project X”) through support in financial modelling
  • Provision of support to the Finance Director in relation to minor ad hoc modelling projects
  • Conducting reviews of potential new sectors/geographies for current core products and business


The above responsibilities will be supported by the following activities.


  • Communicate with team members/relevant stakeholders to understand the needs and requirements of the project in hand
  • Performance of research to ascertain the barriers and opportunities surrounding the proposed plan
  • Identify risks and competitive landscape of the opportunity in addition to regulatory and compliance matters for consideration
  • Utilise data modelling practices to analyse findings and identify suggestions
  • Provide recommendations on approach to drive out best case scenario with both profit maximisation and the organisational purpose in mind
  • Assistance in the execution of Continuous Improvement Projects, mapping processes and identifying deficiencies for rectification
  • Perform ongoing monitoring when the project is in place to understand performance against initial evaluations conducted


As our organisation continues to evolve and grow, additional opportunities will be presented requiring analysis, insight and assessment. The Business Partner – Special Projects will develop the respective models and plans in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders that will underpin the decisions to be made in the organisation. This role will also review internal processes or policy and assist in continuous improvement.

  • Recognised Professional Accountancy Qualification, strategic business development or financial analyst equivalent
  • Experience with entrepreneurial organisations in consideration of business plans and projects from outset with the ability to conduct the necessary research to support the plan being proposed.
  • Background in analytical thinking and problem solving to allow effective communication to key stakeholders
  • Track record in creating detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business.
  • Self-starter who can take instruction and run with the brief
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail with a track record in project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and good at prioritising
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Accurate & clear written skills
  • Ability to communicate articulately and identify matters for escalation
  • Positive attitude to work
  • Work well under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • Drive and assertiveness to make decisions
  • Assertive but flexible personality to meet the changing needs of the team and scaling business
  • A strong team player with a track record of development/training and knowledge-sharing
  • Advanced proficiency in MS excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Experience in operation of Odoo or equivalent-based ERP
