Role Summary

The IT Business Partner – Commercial reports to the CIO and serves as the strategic interface with Autolus Commercial function for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management.

The IT Business Partner plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology and business objectives. The primary responsibility is to align technology solutions, strategies, and initiatives with the overall goals of the organization. By understanding the business landscape, facilitating effective communication, driving innovation, the IT Business Partner ensures that technology investments contribute to Autolus success.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with Autolus Commercial stakeholders to understand their needs, goals, challenges, and objectives. Translate these requirements into technology strategies and IT demand that align with the organization's overarching objectives.
  • Capture and shape new IT demand to ensure business requirements are clearly articulated, business cases developed, and lead demand process for all Commercial requests. Accountable for effective solution delivery from requirements through evaluation / RFP, design, implementation, value-realization, steady-state support, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with IT Demand partners to identify potential impacts of change to ensure that these impacts are well understood when creating business cases and in planning projects. Ensure IT Supply can meet IT Demand.
  • Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate IT owners regarding Commercial requests, projects, and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement communication, reporting, and meeting cadences to ensure business stakeholders are aligned and projects and enhancements progress to plan.
  • Provide expert guidance on technology trends, best practices, and emerging solutions. Help Commercial stakeholders make informed decisions about technology adoption and implementation.
  • Lead change initiatives related to technology adoption. Provide guidance and support to teams during transitions, ensuring seamless integration of new tools and processes.
  • Help Commercial stakeholders identify technology opportunities to optimize or transform business operations; gain efficiencies through automation or other reduction of non-value add activities.

Relationship Management

  • Provide strategic thought partnerships to the business. Bring practical ideas, technological advances, or ideas to improve Commercial operations and meet objectives.
  • Develop deep domain knowledge of Autolus Commercial organizational functions.
  • Build strategic relationships with Commercial partners to stimulate, surface, and shape demand.
  • Collaborate often with IT teams to remove blockers and resolve issues.
  • Drive consensus amongst all key stakeholders and delivery teams, including Senior leadership, on Commercial IT strategy and demand priorities.

Strategy Development

  • Co-lead building a business partner practice at Autolus, identify needs & create best practices.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and strategies that align with your Commercial long-term vision technology needs.
  • Effectively collaborating within IT to shape an overall Commercial business strategy that effectively leverages technology.
  • Lead a team in developing and continuously improving Commercial capability roadmaps in collaboration to inform IT Roadmaps and IT resourcing needs to meet business objectives.
  • Facilitate collaboration with business stakeholders to break high-level strategic goals into a clear multi-year roadmap outlining distinct projects and enhancement requirements to achieve goals and produce value for the business.
  • Highlight the impacts of new strategies on people, processes, and technology to ensure successful technology implementation and adoption.
  • Understands the vendor and solution landscape and proposes innovative technology solutions in support of business objectives.
  • Share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
