Title: Engineering Manager

Location: South Wales. Can do Friday from home

Salary: £70,000 (+/-) negotiable


Key Milestones:


  • Launched a new device with updated aesthetics and improved software functionality this year.
  • Planning a new system development for next year
  • Working on a range of projects informed by market intelligence.
  • Preparing for additional clinical trials and aiming for MDSAP certification.
  • Expanded into 5 new international territories this year, with plans for continued expansion in the coming years.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure efficient and compliant engineering operations.
  • Update the existing product portfolio to meet new standards and market requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Lead new product development initiatives, managing internal and external resources.
  • Manage and expand the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
  • Provide technical and compliance support to internal teams and external partners.
  • Oversee document and change management processes related to engineering.


Skills & Attributes:


  • Degree in Electronics, Software, Mechanical, or Medical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading an engineering department.
  • Strong knowledge of medical device approvals and regulatory affairs.
  • Proven experience in new product design and introduction.
  • Ability to review and approve engineering reports, drawings, and schematics.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SolidWorks.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and people management skills.
  • A motivated self-starter with strong decision-making and organizational skills.


Working Hours:

Standard hours are 08:00–16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00–13:00 on Fridays, with flexibility required during peak demands.


Travel Requirements:

Occasional UK and international travel will be required, and the candidate must have a valid driving license and passport.
