The Data Analyst for Data Operations will be responsible for managing stakeholders, gathering, collating and analysing data issues and translating them into data and reporting needs, using technical expertise to ensure data accuracy and high-quality, whilst ensuring delivery deadlines meet business requirements. Working closely with the data operations team, business stakeholders and the wider data team in resolving operational and data issues.
The day to day:
- You will be an experienced analyst who specialises in delivering Data Projects using Agile delivery methods and Data Operations function.
- Working with a team of data analysts, engineers, and other specialists, You'll own or delegate tasks, ensure effective communication, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Working closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs to ensure their expectations are met. Plan and lead meetings with business and technical staff, documenting outputs, proactively seeking subsequent agreement and sign-off. Manage expectations and communications, become the point of contact with stakeholders, ensuring they are involved and updated with progress on issues.
- Share duties with the wider data operations team to ensure data is delivered accurately and on time to the business. Incidents/Issues are investigated and satisfactorily resolved in a timely manner. Working knowledge of supporting one or more of the current BBEU Data platforms.
- Ensuring data is delivered accurately, efficiently, and according to agreed-upon timelines and quality standards to the users.
- Maintain and support existing data platforms within Brown & Brown Europe. Ensure data is delivered accurately and on time to the business. Incidents/issues are investigated and satisfactorily resolved in a timely manner.
- Serving as a point of contact for data operations activities. You'll clearly communicate progress, roadblocks, and solutions for activities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and data engineers.
- Participate in a highly engaged and effective data operations squad, that operates well within and aligns to the wider European Data tribe, and Group Data team. You will leverage and contribute to best practices in data operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
About you:
- Degree educated in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in data analysis within a technology team
- Proficient in SQL, data visualisation tools and Excel
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably Azure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with data warehousing
- Experience in the Microsoft stack - Azure Data factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Server, Azure Power Platform, Power BI.
- Working early some mornings, on a scheduled basis to monitor overnight operational batches and resolve issues where possible.
- The successful candidate will successfully blend stakeholder management and technical expertise
