About the Role: As a HSE Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing risk to prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses. You will ensure our company complies with all relevant HSE legislation and drive continuous improvements in our H&S systems and culture.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Keep the H&S Management System up-to-date with current legislation.
  • Monitor environmental legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Director to achieve H&S and Environmental goals.
  • Conduct regular site visits (60% travel) to build relationships and stay informed about business changes.
  • Provide advice and support to Site Responsible People (SRPs).
  • Develop a group-wide environmental management system.
  • Assist with the implementation of the H&S Manual across all sites.
  • Produce monthly H&S and environmental status reports.
  • Drive improvements in the H&S system and foster a positive H&S culture.
  • Maintain high HSE standards and encourage a proactive approach to H&S.
  • Compile and maintain accurate H&S records.
  • Manage and conduct H&S audits and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Chair/attend site H&S meetings and document minutes.
  • Disseminate H&S and environmental information to all staff.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments, including COSHH assessments.
  • Perform site inspections and monitoring.
  • Ensure H&S training is conducted and provide training as needed.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Leadership Team.


Key Skill Requirements:


  • Thorough knowledge of H&S legislation and HSE Guidance.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE or A Level in Chemistry/Science.
  • Willingness to travel to sites in the UK.
