To ensure that all premises, services and equipment is maintained and repaired to a safe and acceptable standard and in compliance with all statutory and legal requirements and budgetary restraints.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all facility repairs and services are carried out in compliance with legal and H&S legislation.
- Work with the SHEQ team to ensure Metroline complies with all legislation such as legionella testing, asbestos inspection, environmental issues etc.
- Any repairs and services are carried out in accordance with the relative budget restraints.
- Working with the Purchasing Team, put in place a process of tendering and estimating that ensures best price for quality repairs and service contracts.
- Liaise with TfGM and contractors during ZE transformation building works and ensure that an effective maintenance and support regime is introduced for charging equipment and back-office support systems.
- Working with TfGM, provide a 5-year expenditure plan for short-, mid- and long-term repairs and maintenance at all sites.
- Compile a building and equipment risk register.
- Review current supplier and contract services providers on an annual basis, recommendations for preferred suppliers for that particular year.
- Working with Head of Purchasing and other interested parties, review current energy usage across all sites and produce a plan for savings of electricity, gas and other heating sources.
- Investigate any potential Government funding or support in the area of energy efficiency.
- Keep plant and equipment asset list up to date and maintain a statutory servicing and testing log for all such equipment.
- Advise senior management of any upcoming legislation that could have a material affect on the running or profitability of the business.
The duties listed above are not exhaustive.
Essential Criteria
- A relevant qualification from an Industry recognised authority.
- Membership of an Industry professional body.
- Demonstrable experience in a Facilities environment.
- Must have a thorough understanding of all relevant legislation regarding the upkeep of premises, the Factory Act, Health and Safety at Work act and any other relevant laws and legal requirements.
- Experience in budget preparation and presentation.
- Skilled in the use of IT systems, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and Oracle.
Hours of Work
38 hours per week, with flexibility required for hours/days worked (including weekends) in line with operational requirements.
