An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Document Controller to join our team in London and Hertfordshire. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background.


The successful candidate will manage the document control process on projects, liaising internally with the site team, and externally with the Client, Consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure document control is managed in a timely, professional manner, in accordance with company procedures and project programs.


The ideal candidate will have to hold a full UK driving licence, as travel between sites is necessary.


Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Proactively lead and manage document control on selected projects, being the first point of contact for all document control issues
  • Effectively set up and manage the document control system during the preconstruction and construction periods and take responsibility for day-to-day document control requirements on site
  • For each project, together with the Head of Doc Control, establish a Project Information Management Manual (IMM) and ensure the project teamwork to this throughout the duration of the project
  • Provide basic user training to both internal and external team members and liaise with A Site Support service as and when required (Full training will be provided)
  • Ensure all documents are processed in accordance with the IMM and contract timelines
  • Create weekly & monthly project reports as required by the team for formal reporting purposes and internal management of the project
  • Actively chase internal and external parties for up-and-coming or overdue actions to ensure the project program is maintained
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of the system to ensure the quality of information is maintained
  • Suggest updates to the document control procedures, actively work to constantly improve and refine
  • Process weekly material, waste, and plant delivery/collection tickets
  • Weekly visit to Head Office to deliver all site tickets
  • To update and maintain company share drive with all project documentation including H&S and Q&A. Making sure document control procedure is followed
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position
  • Comply with Company procedures

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Experience as a Document Controller
  • Experience in the Construction Industry/working on-site
  • Construction understanding and background
  • Recognised Construction or technical discipline qualifications


Skills:

  • Excellent IT skills – Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office, knowledge of EDMS systems would be desirable but not essential, training will be provided
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to deal with clients & internal staff
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Meticulous, organised, proactive with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Manual Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Must be able to travel to different sites daily in and around the London and Hertfordshire area
