To be successful in this role:

You will be a confident Quality Manager with proven experience in quality management within the aerospace, medical, or other high-technology manufacturing industries, and strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies.


Other requirements for this role include:

  • Graduate calibre with a degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field being preferred
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Proficient in quality tools and techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Root Cause Analysis)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills


Position summary:

This role reports into the European Quality Director and will initially focus on managing the quality processes at one site in Birmingham, with potential expansion to oversee three sites (Birmingham x 2 and Hereford). The Birmingham site specialises in assembly and press work with 150 employees. The Quality Manager will need to demonstrate strong leadership, peer management, and a commitment to maintaining and elevating the company's high standards. Job role and responsibilities:

As the Quality Manager, you will report directly to the Site General Manager and take full responsibility for leading a small, highly motivated, and dedicated quality team. Your primary focus will be to promote a strong quality culture across the manufacturing site and to drive continuous improvement in quality practices.


Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Quality Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the quality team to ensure high performance and professional growth
  • Foster a culture of quality throughout the organization, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement and adherence to industry standards
  • Quality Management System:
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet regulatory and customer requirements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify areas for quality improvement across the manufacturing processes
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve customer satisfaction
  • Audits and Compliance:
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring that the site meets all regulatory and customer requirements
  • Develop and execute audit plans, address non-conformances, and drive corrective actions
  • Supplier Quality Management:
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance quality standards and drive improvements
  • Customer Satisfaction:
  • Address customer concerns and complaints related to product quality
  • Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid recurrence of issues
