Associate Building Surveyor – Leeds

£65,000 to £75,000

Tired of the same old Building Surveyor roles? This is your chance to step up, lead a team, and deliver meaningful projects—all while enjoying the flexibility to work your way. Based in Leeds, with hybrid working options, this role is ideal for someone ready to take control of their career.

Why You Should Care:

  • Lead and Deliver: Manage your own team, oversee diverse projects, and work directly with clients who value your expertise. No hand-holding, just real responsibility.
  • Grow Your Career: Get the support you need to develop—whether it’s mentoring, professional development programs, or the freedom to shape how you work.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible hours, hybrid working, and family-friendly policies mean you can work smarter, not harder.
  • Competitive Package: A solid salary, performance-related bonuses, private healthcare, and a generous holiday allowance (with the option to buy more).
  • Challenging Projects: From refurbishments to new builds, you’ll work on a mix of projects that keep things interesting and push your skills further.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading your team to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff while managing workloads and performance.
  • Handling everything from diagnosing defects to contract administration, specification writing, and managing JCT contracts.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, ensuring projects meet their expectations.
  • Contributing to the business by helping develop strategies, winning new work, and improving best practices.

What You’ll Need:

  • MRICS/FRICS qualification with a proven track record in project delivery and team management.
  • Experience in building surveys, defect diagnosis, contract administration, and delivering both new build and refurbishment projects.
  • A collaborative, client-focused approach and the ability to develop junior talent.
  • Strong construction knowledge and the confidence to identify risks, solve problems, and propose the right solutions.

This isn’t just another surveying role—it’s a chance to lead, grow, and be part of a team that values what you bring to the table.
