Opportunity

As Lead Solution Architect, you will lead and shape the overall technical architecture and solution design across the clients OneApp programme. You’ll be working across business and digital delivery teams and will act as the primary Solution Architecture contact, proactively engaging with Data Architects, Integration Architects, Technical architects, product managers, product owners, Solution Architects, other Lead Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects.

Day to day you will be required to either direct and produce high quality, fit for purpose solution designs, meeting functional and non-functional requirements that adhere to clients architectures as well as current technology industry standards and best practice.

You will be in a key position to be able to provide technology consultancy to the business and digital colleagues working within OneApp programme. In addition, you will provide design leadership to solution architects working within the delivery teams and associated products. As a key member of the Digital product delivery structure you will find excellent opportunities to grow and broaden your skills and experience.

You will significantly contribute to the team’s architecture input into the clients Digital strategy by assisting in translating business strategies and priorities into Target State Architectures by formation coherent solution designs, reference architectures, patterns and standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for OneApp global solution design at a container level including mobile app back-end, Vehicle connected data platform, API services, content management, CRM, Push Notification.
• Responsible to lead Customer data group to ensure customer profile and consent and preference services delivered on agreed on NFR.
• Responsible to lead Identity and Access Management to ensure customer authentication services delivered on agreed NFR.
• Response to lead Order Management, API services and SF Marketing cloud to ensure app push notification services delivered on agreed NFR.
• Response to engage Order Management, API services and SF Marketing cloud to ensure app push notification services delivered on agreed NFR.
• Ensure that all clients standards and governance forums are fully addressed.
• Supports the global product manager in the management of the Oneapp mobile channel capability map.
• Co-Chairs the technical design authority for Senior Product Manager.
• Work with the Product Manager, solution architect to define the Oneapp architecture roadmap.
• Full technical analysis at project feasibility stage including systems and technical input required for business cases and associated documentation.
• Contribute to the development of clients Digital roadmaps for Oneapp, reference architectures, patterns and standards to support industry best practice on a proactive basis.
• Act as a technical point of contact in conjunction with internal Digital staff for assigned projects and tasks.
• Represent Oneapp as a technical product level and ensure appropriate company and industry standards are met.
• Represent and explain the technical requirements and constraints of the programme to Digital and business management and advise on any associated technical constraints, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies in a timely manner.
• Produce robust fit for purpose high level technical architecture designs within an Agile and / or waterfall project / programme environments and following internal IT processes.
• Represent the programme designs to the Design Authorities and demonstrate fitness for purpose and compliance to reference architectures, patterns and standards.
• Act as the lead technology consultant for Oneapp. Drive towards re-use and removal of tech debt
• Work closely and collaboratively with subject matter experts to reach consensus on best practice designs and approaches.
• Work with 3rd party vendors and suppliers to ensure solution compliance to clients reference architectures, patterns and standards and meeting information security policies.
• Assist in creation of solution assessment criteria for product selections.
• As appropriate assist / lead technical workshops and meetings with internal technical customers and stakeholders and external suppliers and vendors.
• Assist Product Managers and Business Analysts in the creation of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

Experience:

• Proven ability to lead the technical delivery customer facing mobile app solutions and platforms
• Experience in mobile content API, Microservices, Kafka event streaming and app push notification
• Salesforce experience order tracking, customer profile, consent management and marketing cloud
• Support the definition app strategy aligning product engineering, customer domain and information digital technology domain.
• Proven track record in leading Technical Design Authorities to provide assurance that technical decisions are right, fit for purpose and deliver strategic architecture.
• Educated degree level or above preferably in a computing, systems or science / engineering related subject.
• Proven track record of working in a complex and multi-faceted organisation using a wide variety of current and legacy IT technology components.
• Strong exposure to both waterfall based and agile/scrum based methodologies
• Proven track record as a solution architect delivering appropriate software application designs integrating cross technology solutions covering a variety of technologies.
• Relevant and current software development / engineering experience skills covering all aspects including all security and privacy aspects, error handling, monitoring and logging.
• High quality designs encompassing full error handling, monitoring and logging
• Good understanding of best practices for development of security standards compliant systems
• Strong exposure to application performance testing and optimisation.
• Capable of producing detailed integration designs using industry standards in accordance with established clients integration patterns and policies.
• Ability to demonstrate delivery of pragmatic solutions that balance project / programme constraints against strategic direction and, as required, successfully reach agree compromise with stakeholders.
• Proven ability to identify practical solutions and improvements that benefit the organisation and express complex ideas in clear business language.
• Proven ability to think strategically, analyse data and information and develop and deliver appropriate, innovative and effective solutions.
• Appreciation of DevOps, integrated development practices, Integrated Test etc
• 5+ years of experience as practitioner in the role of Solution Architect
