Logiq Consulting are Cyber Security and Information Assurance experts. Specialising in delivering leading edge consultancy to clients with high-risk business operations, along with a range of security services and products relied upon throughout the Private and Public Sector.


Due to a rapid increase in clients within our Consultancy Division, we have a requirement for a Senior DevOps Engineer Consultant to join our expanding Architecture team. The ideal candidate will have current or recent experience of working in a DevOps team, will understand the DevOps lifecycle and the benefits of incremental and agile methodologies for delivering digital transformation, utilizing infrastructure as code. Experience in MOD, defence standards and policies, and security-focused design is highly desirable.


About You and the Experience Required


The successful candidate will join our growing architecture team, working with internal and external clients to develop and deliver security-focused digital transformation. The candidate will be capable of collaborating with other DevOps specialists, Architects and Product Owners to rapidly implement new services. They will be comfortable working as a alongside the client teams, supporting the client in developing prototypes, informing selection of the correct solution, as well as being capable of working on delivery programmes, developing, integrating, and automating advanced IT systems for customers. The candidate will be comfortable briefing technical and leadership functions with appropriate technical expertise, progress, and blockers, tailoring communication to suit the audience.


From the outset, the successful candidate will be joining a diverse transformation team, focused on the migration of applications to secure cloud services, developing a repeatable methodology for digital transformation at pace, using terraform and ansible. The candidate will bring specialist skills for the integration and automation of applications, products, and data pipelines, whilst remaining focused on cyber-best practice within a security driven environment.


Significant opportunity exists to improve and optimise DevOps process for secure environments, streamlining the quality, security, and assurance requirements of secure cloud environments to deliver transformation at pace for our clients. Quite often this will involve pipelines, and CI/CD.

Essential Experience and Knowledge


  • 5+ years’ experience in Software Engineering role which has included terms of both DevOps and team/technical leadership responsibility. Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills working with senior leadership and/or external customers. Has a deep appreciation of test, quality, standard setting, product innovation and customer impact.
  • 5+ years’ experience delivering products with Agile development which has included DevSecOps (shift-left) best practice using iterative product development cycles ideally with the Atlassian suite. Adept in translating both technical issues and customer requirements into software architecture and epics/stories.
  • Proven expertise in NetIQ/EntraID solutions, building authentication solution and administering within cloud environments, utilising two factor authentication, and certificates.
  • Proven expertise in deploying and configuring infrastructure, databases, and applications on Cloud platforms as operational services (especially on AWS or Azure). Direct creation and implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, (e.g., Terraform and Ansible). Substantial experience developing and leading teams on container build and deployment systems (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Automation of deployments and configuration using Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools incorporating automated testing, as part of the pipeline.
  • Comfortable with development on both Linux and Windows environments, to the degree of being able to mentor junior entry staff on basic Linux OS principles and commands, as well as scripting proficiency preferably in Linux shell and one other language (e.g., Python / Java).
  • Ability to self-start, to diagnose any issues and offer solutions as part of the wider team, then implement such solutions, with a clearly defined testing framework, and evidencing the fix.


Desirable Experience and Knowledge


  • System integration with data storage/processing platforms such as ELK Stack, Business Intelligence platforms, HPE Ezmeral, and/or equivalent cloud services (e.g. AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory etc.).
  • Serverless development with AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
  • Being able to code IAC/Configuration from scratch using terraform / ansible
  • System engineering and/or system security skills.
  • Experience of building Defensive Cyber or Secure Systems.
  • Previous experience in a consultancy role.
  • Previous experience in the defence or cybersecurity industry.


Desirable Qualifications


  • Minimum 2.1 Engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics degree
  • Higher degree such as MSc or Phd
  • Relevant certification with a specific Cloud Provider (e.g. Azure or AWS)
  • Relevant certification in an Agile Delivery or CI/CD methodology
