A well-established regional Insurance Broker based in Surrey is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a brand-new Enterprise Data Warehouse from scratch, using cutting-edge technologies. As the Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, and developing Power BI reports and dashboards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using dbt
  • Implement Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modelling techniques
  • Build and maintain interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and deliver on reporting requirements
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all data pipelines
  • Use Azure Synapse Analytics, Purview, Fivetran, and Azure DevOps to build and manage the data warehouse
  • Support and mentor team members with less Data Warehouse experience


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in data engineering or related roles, with strong proficiency in SQL
  • Expertise in Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modelling
  • Hands-on experience with data ingestion and transformation
  • Experience with Power BI for developing reports and dashboards
  • Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and architectures
  • Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics and other cloud-based data solutions
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar version control systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the wider business
