Due to the significant prospective increases in power demand throughout the UK, Bluestone Energy is currently developing over than 25GW of renewable energy projects (i.e. Solar, Battery Storage, Wind etc.), inclusive of Behind-the-Meter C&I green energy solutions to aid with client demands across the energy sector. Bluestone Energy is committed as a developer to bring engineered solutions to a variety of applications and system requirements. Whilst we primarily provide consultancy services for the grid integration of renewable generation projects within all project phases, Bluestone Energy Ltd can add value to a project by implementing both conventional power systems analysis as well as today’s challenges such as smart grid modelling and analysis.



Key Role Tasks (non-exhaustive list):


· Act as the focal point for technical, commercial, and regulatory issues arisen from the scheme’s grid connection proposals while ensuring grid compliance with the latest transmission and distribution networks standards.

· Whenever needed, help with the preparation of G99 grid, direct transmission, and BELLA/BEGA applications.

· Review of DNO/BELLA/BEGA/Transmission Connection Offers, prepare the relevant assessment reports and present the key findings to the Technical Director and Senior members of the Planning, Legal and Management Teams.

· Provide technical assistance during the entire project development phase and ensure the factors influencing and influenced by the grid connection proposals are considered.

· Coordinate and manage technical queries upon further engagement with the DNOs and NGESO at regular basis to facilitate the connection contractual process during the DNO Connection Offer and Project Progression/BELLA/BEGA Offer and post acceptance stages.

· Upon Technical Director’s guidance, actively involve with the ICP and EPC tendering process (including technical and commercial review of tender returns).

· Frequently participate as Grid Lead in technical meetings with Bluestone Energy’s existing funders.

· On regular basis represent Bluestone Energy in DNOs’ and Network Operators’ connections engagement forums, conferences, and webinars.

· Any other reasonable task as requested by a Manager, Partner or Director of the business.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Knowledge

· Preferably a degree level qualification associated with electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering.

· A proven track record with 5+ years of previous experience in connections operations as the lead in-house resource across a range of technologies, for a leading developer and operator of medium to large-scale power generation and/or battery storage schemes.

· Good network of contacts across the DNOs, IDNOs and ICP environment (desirable, not required).

· Knowledge of HV/MV substation and contestable/BoP elements design, construction standards and equipment costs.

· Knowledge of the transmission grid operations in the UK.

· A broad understanding of commercial and regulatory connections policy (UK).

· Able to coordinate with multiple internal and external teams including any members from Bluestone Energy’s funding partners’ members.

· Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
