Our client, a renowned and leading Intellectual Property (IP) firm, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Patent Legal Assistant to join the dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting patent attorneys and ensuring the accurate and timely filing of patent applications.

As a Patent Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in preparing and completing patent office filings. Your expertise in patent filing requirements and regulations will be essential in ensuring compliance and accuracy. Additionally, you will conduct research to determine filing requirements when needed, supporting the firm's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise your knowledge of patent filing requirements and regulations to prepare and complete patent office filings
  • Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, staff and patent offices to coordinate European and foreign patent filings, including formalities such as reporting, official correspondence and reporting issued patents
  • Conduct research to determine the requirements for filings in various jurisdictions as needed
  • Manage and update patent records and databases, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate and manage deadlines to ensure timely submission of all filings
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, patent offices, and other stakeholders
  • Provide general administrative support to the patent attorneys, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a legal assistant, with a focus on patent filings and regulations
  • In-depth understanding of patent procedures and documentation requirements
  • Strong research skills and the ability to determine filing requirements across different jurisdictions
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and patent management software
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
