About the role


We are looking for a UX Designer to help create captivating learning experiences for our web app and a soon to be announced project. Leveraging your expertise, you will champion all UX work from concept stage through to feature completion.


You’ll gain a deep understanding of Create Academy’s customers and use this insight to drive UX excellence and communicate that process and thinking to the founders and wider team.


Key responsibilities


  • Own your UX process, integrating product and content design requirements as well as producing excellent UX deliverables (such as user journeys, flow diagrams, wireframes, etc.)
  • Create prototypes for internal and external user testing
  • Collaborate with Growth, Product and Technical teams to translate designs into reality
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to drive deeper insight into customer needs

Essentials

  • Proven 3 years or more experience working as a UX Designer across web and mobile
  • A strong portfolio of design projects, focusing on both UX Design and Research for subscription-based companies
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • Excellent knowledge of Figma, also Adobe suite; Illustrator & Photoshop; After effects/ animation experience is a plus
  • Background in project management and customer research
  • Problem-solving aptitude with an analytical mind
  • Good business acumen leading to excellent communication skills in a customer facing role
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • High level of productivity and the flexibility to respond to changing deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build robust and sustainable working relationships.


Nice-to-haves

  • An understanding of front-end web development (HTML5/CSS3, web-safe fonts, responsive and/or mobile layouts, CMS)
  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • An interest in creativity, design and making
