You will be tasked with integrating APIs for data ingestion and maintaining synchronization between the data layer and the GraphQL API layer. The role requires an agile approach to development, enabling the incremental build-out of sophisticated data engineering solutions. What You'll Do

  • Lead the Data Platform Team to enhance and scale platform capabilities under the direction of the Head of Data Platform.
  • Develop solutions that streamline the integration of the data warehouse with internal and external tools and services.
  • Collaborate with various teams to support their use of the Data Platform, ensuring consistency in data testing, versioning, and metadata management within a data mesh framework.
  • Manage API integrations for data ingestion and synchronization between the data layer and GraphQL API layer.
  • Employ agile methodologies to incrementally develop complex data engineering solutions.
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the team to enhance the overall expertise on data-related tasks.
  • Opportunities for rapid career progression, either as an individual contributor or into management, for those who excel.


Who We're Looking For

  • Extensive experience in designing and scaling Data Platforms.
  • Proficient in Python with strong programming skills.
  • Advanced SQL capabilities, with a preference for experience in Snowflake.
  • Experience working with DBT and Airflow.
  • A passion for solving complex data challenges and an interest in working with rich and diverse climate datasets.
  • A deep commitment to environmental sustainability and the ecosystems of the Earth.
  • Must be a permanent UK resident
