Jehane Ltd is an Illustration Agency based in Platform Nine, Brighton, UK. Founded in 2018 by artist and creative entrepreneur Jehane Boden Spiers. We personally represent Illustrators worldwide. Our talented artists live all over the world including UK, USA, Canada, Europe, and New Zealand.
Jehane Ltd has two streams of revenue. The licensing and illustration agency is B2B, servicing over 200+ clients globally. In 2023 Jehane launched a new programme of online learning, a B2C offer. Both are growing rapidly, so we now require the support of an experienced and highly efficient Financial Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Processing payments, invoices and receipts . Accurately managing data through accounting software (Xero) and databases. Filing hard copies where required.
- Reconciling invoices in multiple currencies. Managing our artist self-billing process, including tracking and managing roll-over payments, and applying accurate deductions in lieu of samples sent, bank charges incurred etc.
- Managing debtors payment schedules, ensuring invoices are paid on time and late invoices are managed appropriately.
- Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure, profit and loss.
- Monitoring our UK Sterling and US Dollars bank accounts including balances and transfers.
- Monitoring our UK Paypal, US Dollars Paypal and Stripe Accounts.
- Managing quarterly VAT returns and assisting Company Directors with year-end accounts.
- Generating reports on various financial metrics.
- Checking the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Company Directors of anomolies.
- Managing employee expense claims and receipts.
- Assisting our accountants with administrative duties in preparing yearly accounts.
- Auditing, investigating and solving problems with client accounts.
- Developing business processes and contributing ideas to help streamline procedures.
- Delivering addional non- financial admistrative task as required.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Highly experienced (minimum of three years) in all aspects of book-keeping and Xero Accounting;
- Able to identify and implement efficiencies and improvements to our existing book-keeping practices where necessary;
- High attention to detail, excellent numeracy skills with the ability to analyse and present statistical information with confidence;
- A pro-active problem solver who is well organised, and self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude;
- Someone who works well under pressure, takes personal responsibility and has a keen eye for detail with strong multi-tasking skills;
- A strong communicator – on the phone, in person and online;
- Someone who works in a structured, methodical way to meet deadlines, using initiative and planning ahead;
- A fast learner open to learning new and complex data management tools; and
- Someone with a flexible attitude to your work, comfortable working on both finance and admin tasks as required.
